This is my first Five Minute Friday and I am joining a really awesome group of writers…man these ladies are so awesome I’m shaking in my boots blue socks just thinking about all the awesome. Click on the button below for more details on what this challenge is all about and how you can participate.
GO
My cousin in law said something to me earlier this week that really got under my skin. First she said, that if I wait too long to have kids, I will end up spending my “golden years” raising kids and who wants to do that. Then she said that I remind her of someone she knows who is 40, single and loving it.
When I mentioned to my sister that this got under my skin, she said to me “why are you allowing her to get under my skin in the first place?” Well truth is…she got under my skin because this is a very real fear of mine. That I will be 40, single and making the best of it. No offence to any awesome single 40-year-olds who are living life to the fullest.
All this to say…I wish I could see into the future and know how this all turns out…it will save me a whole lot of frustration in the present.
STOP
This sounds so exciting! Good for you for this. Unedited posts are the best ones. They are so pure! 🙂 Look forward to next Friday’s.

It actually was pretty cool. I tried last Friday but chickened out and posted something else. But this week I was determined and I am happy with the result, even though I spent precious second back-spacing.
You said a lot in your 4.5 minutes! 🙂
Good for you!

Right here with you: same worries and wonderings.

Not easy at all. Thanks for stopping by.
A real fear that young women have. You expressed it well.

Thanks 🙂
Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier. You did well for your first. I’m on my third and still not really there yet.
By the way, it’s not any easier the other way around. I have the “what if we got married and had kids too early” fears.
Hugs,
Melinda

Thanks for stopping by and for your kind words Melinda. {{{Hugs}}}
Congrats on your first FMF. It’s mine, too. Everything will be as it should, and the same time I understand wanting to see in the future 🙂

Thank you and Congrats on yours as well. We walk a fine line between enjoying the present and wanting to see the future don’t we 🙂
I love this! Only God knows our seasons and days that He planned out for us. If your fear comes true and your forty and living it up, well, I have to believe that God is still sovereign over that, He will still be loving you and showing Himself to you day to day. I have fears too and have to surrender my “what-ifs” daily! So glad you’re joining the FMF, I just started recently too, welcome!

Thanks for your kind words Emily. And yes I trust that He is in charge of everything.
Thank you for stopping by my blog earlier. It was my second so new here too. You said it well in this post. I guess we can’t figure out our life before hand as much as we want to. And perhaps it’s just the best for us. Keep writing, looking forward to read more from you.

Thank you for stopping by my blog too 😀 You know I think it is the best for us…the not knowing. Because that way we get to enjoy the journey. I’m looking forward to reading more from you as well Tarja.
Welcome to Five Minute Fridays! I know you will love it! I wanted to stop by and say thanks for stopping by Renaissance Women.
You know, my youngest sister had her first baby at 37 years old, her second at 41 and her third at 44. In all this time she never once missed a step! At the time, I couldn’t see it but it worked for her and her husband and her oldest is in college now. She still hasn’t missed a step. I would just say don’t let the fear consume you. God does all things in His time. If He’s given you this desire, He will fulfill it at the exact right time. Be at peace and enjoy this time living out the rest of your dreams until this one comes to pass.
God Bless and it was great to meet you! I’ll look for you next Friday! 😀

Thank you for stopping by my blog and sharing these kind and encouraging words with me Cassandra. I am truly astounded by the compassion and support from the FMF family. I am learning to trust that everything is in His time. We have it out on the regular He and I…well I have it out with Him. I guess He’s accustomed by now. God Bless you and your sister and I really am looking forward to being part of this lovely community.
