And now we welcome the new year, full of things that have never been. ― Rainer Maria Rilke
Happy Everything 2015 {My One Word Reveal}
This is my third year doing One Word 365. I gave up making resolutions two years ago. What’s this all about? You can read more about the movement here.
My word for 2014 was MOVE, however, I spent most of last year feeling like I was waiting for something to happen..or that I was in a state of perpetual anticipation for something…but I never found out what. When it came to choosing my theme for 2015, I felt like I needed to get out of that place of “waiting.” Which lead me to PUSH.
According to the Macmillan Dictionary PUSH has several meanings. It can be:
- A pushing movement
- A way to encourage someone
- A determined attempt
- A movement of an army
- A determination to do something
- Or something difficult to do
PUSH in my case being the ability to get up every day and push against or through everything that I think or feel might be holding me back from living my best life. This year my focus will be on pushing forward towards creating the life I want to live and evolving into the me God created me to be.
PUSH will be my reinvention. I have some specific goals written down for the coming 12 months and I plan to focus those goals around this theme of PUSH. 2015 will see me pushing myself personally, professionally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Yep, my spirituality is included in there as well.
What you do today
can improve all your tomorrows.
– Ralph Marston
Set Intention.
Take the next simple step forward.
Repeat.
Lord, as I begin a new year, begin something new in my relationship with You. I give my life to You. I need You to stand with me and give me the push I need. Because I can’t achieve any of this without You. Amen.
I will share the evolution of this journey on the 15th of every month.
So stay tuned for my next update on January 15th.
Your present circumstances
don’t determine where you can go;
they merely determine where you start.
– Nido Qubein
So folks, in the spirit of clean slates, fresh starts and new beginnings, if you could choose just one word to inspire you for 2015, what would it be?
Brainstorm and please feel free to share it with me in the comments below!
Cheers to 2014!
This was my favourite video this year. And I hope you greet 2015 with this much joy, awe and wonder…and all the days thereafter!
Thank YOU with all my heart!
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
And as 2014 slips into 2015, I will say a prayer for you and yours, thank you for reading and supporting my little patch of internet. I have some big plans for this space in the coming days so stayed tuned.
But first…I wish you and your family a truly spectacular New Year!!
I toast 2014 with the words of Vernon Howard,
Do not be impatient with your seemingly slow progress. Do not try to run faster than you presently can. If you are studying, reflecting and trying, you are making progress whether you are aware of it or not. A traveler walking the road in the darkness of night is still going forward. Someday, some way, everything will… break open, like the natural unfolding of a rosebud.
Light, Love & plenty, plenty Passion!
Quote of the Day
7 for Seven
It’s the final 7 for Seven for 2014…and what a ride this has been. As Hal Borland said, “Year’s end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instill in us.”
Here’s to 2015 and lots of new experiences and finding out who we really are!
But first (and for the last time in 2014)…
…every Monday, we post seven positives from the previous seven days of the week as a reminder of what we have so that the week starts out on an upswing. There is much truth in the belief that happy people attract good things, so it is important to start the week out right. Sometimes it’s the more grand, but other times, it’s the simple things.~ Key + Arrow
7 for Seven originated at Key + Arrow and now let’s get into my 7 for this week:
My gratitude practice. 2014 has been so much better because I made a commitment to pay attention to all that I had to be thankful for. This is something I will take with me into 2015 and beyond.
Surviving turbulence. My vacation officially started on Tuesday but the flight over was pretty bad. We spent most of it wearing our seat belts. Now you know there is a certain reassurance when the stewardesses still continue to serve despite turbulence. But when they are asked to take their seats and buckle up too…it’s time to start saying some Hail Marys. But we all survived and I am enjoying my vacation. Amen.
Which brings me to Love of family. I decided to do things differently this year. Instead of spending the holidays with the sibs, I decided to spend it with my Aunt and my cousins in the US. Christmas Day was a little weird but so far the change has been a welcome adventure. My family has been going all out and I cannot help but feel the love. Here’s to many more adventures of this kind.
Chipotle. Because you know it’s made with angel tears.
Good coffee. I can face anything after I’ve had my fix.
2014. So long and thanks for all the fish.”
Clean slates. Here’s to 2015. We lived to see another day! Let’s make it worth it.
And there you have it. After 50 weeks of this gratitude practice, I am pleased that having paid attention to all that I had to be thankful for and sown seeds of faith and gratitude, that I can truly carry with me and reap the rewards of “positivity + balance + bliss” throughout the days ahead and well into 2015.
I wish you the very best 86,400 seconds of the last day of 2014. If you’re reading this, this is me blowing some glitter and confetti on you because you’re super blessed to have received the gift of another 86,400 seconds today, to spend any way you desire.
Happy Everything for 2015!
