March Forth

march forth and set the world on fireToday is March 4th!

By now for most of us the year has lost that brand new shine.

Those goals, dreams, intentions that you would have started 2015 with may have hit a snag, you’re no longer as excited about them or you may have abandoned them completely.

I’m here to tell you that you can use today as a new start.

I can hear you now…who starts anything on a Wednesday?? Far less on the 4th day of a new month or even the third month in the year?

Does it really matter when you start? Or only that you do?

BEGIN NOW!

TODAY…the day itself is a call to action.

A call to MARCH FORTH. PROCEED FEARLESSLY!

What desire, goal, dream or intention requires action?

What area of your life demands that you march forth? That you proceed fearlessly on?

What do you need a little extra push on?

This is not just about New Years resolutions, or to-do lists it’s about any goal, desire, dream or intention that requires a little effort to effect a positive change in your life.

This is about evolving into the best version of yourself…the person you were created to be.

This is about follow through, so that you can live your best life.

What will you MARCH FORTH on today…March 4th?

PUSH to Start

2015 is off to a hectic start!

Man I wish I was still on vacation. I went back out to work to a very hectic schedule. So much so, it’s been a work all day, get home and crawl into bed kinda week thus far.

Staying committed to doing one new thing a day has been tough, especially in the last two days where my daily routine has been somewhat restored. Which is exactly what I’m trying to push against…push through.

My routine, while it gets the ‘job’ done does not make me happy ultimately…struggle bus business really.

So in an effort to get off the bus to ennui and set the tone for the coming months, I’ve set up a couple dates with fun!

One Word 2015This month’s update which should have been published yesterday is short and sweet.

As promised I’m doing my monthly One Word Update where I share the evolution of this One Word journey on the 15th of every month.

Stay tuned for my next update on February 15th.

One word revolution

What do you want to focus on in 2013?

It can be something tangible or intangible. It can be a thought, a feeling, an action, or a character trait. Your word will be a reminder, a nudge. Something you can reflect on, that will challenge you, that will inspire you.

Your word can be anything you want it to be. All that matters is that it has personal meaning for you.

This is your word. It needs to resonate with your heart, no one else’s.

~ One Word 365

This is the “resolution revolution” taking place over at One Word 365.

It will take intentionality and commitment, but if you let it, your word will shape you and your year. It will guide your decisions and help you grow.

This is not a new concept to me. At Mass on New Years my priest usually gives a word to focus on for the year. Last year’s word was “Educate” and this year it’s “Peace”.

The problem with this word is that I’ve never considered it the context of my own life. For instance, when I thought about it, my “one word” for 2012 was most definitely TRUST! There were recurring themes and situations where I had to learn to trust. I learned to surrender and trust that everything was happening as it should and at the right time.

Then fellow blogger, Diane Rivers shared her “one word” and I had an AH-HA! moment..this I could incorporate into my own life.

OneWord2013_truth

I have chosen TRUTH for my one word.

Over the next 12 months, I will be exploring and acknowledging and accepting the real me.
I will seek to get comfortable in my own skin because I live there.
I will learn to accept and live in the present, let go of the past,
plan for the future and surrender the outcome.

I will live, walk and speak my truth.

I’ve decided I need to be more open and to share the real me with the people in my life who deserve to know who I am and what that means.

The people in our lives only ever really know what we want them to know about us. I’ve been known to edit an experience or myself for the audience. I think the most real I’ve been is here on this blog. I hold nothing back. I give it everything I have. I’m going to take this approach into the real world this year.

It’s about time I let people see the real me, even when that means being vulnerable. I want to have a truly authentic experience of life in 2013.

I will share the evolution of this journey on the 15th of every month.

Truth

Be impeccable
with your word.
Speak with integrity.
Say only what you mean.
Avoid using the word
to speak against yourself
or to gossip about others.
Use the power of your word
in the direction
of truth
and love.

Already great things have been happening. My awesome custom image of my “One word” above, as well as the “One Word” button in the sidebar was created by fellow Blogger Melanie Moore for me for free and she will make one for you as well. A special, special thank you to Melanie for this gift from the heart.

If you could choose one word to inspire you for 2013, what would it be? Brainstorm and share it with me in the comments below!

Stand upright, speak thy thoughts, declare The truth thou hast, that all may share; Be bold, proclaim it everywhere: They only live who dare.
~ Voltaire

Day 27 – Moving in the direction of my heart

Time to turn on your heart light.

Today’s Affirmation:

Today I give in the direction of my heart.

‘Cheshire Puss … Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?’ asked Alice.
‘That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,’ said the Cat.
`I don’t much care where–‘ said Alice.
`Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,’ said the Cat.
–from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

It’s the day after my birthday and today I plan. What is this New Year of life going to be like? What new things am I going to accomplish? Looking back on the last year of my life, I was most happy when I was doing things that made my heart sing. Planning events, seeing them come to fruition, pleasing my customers all set my heart on fire. Unlike Alice, who wasn’t sure where she wanted to go, thus it didn’t matter where she went or which path she took to get there, I am going in the direction of my heart. That is going to be my focus this year, doing more of the things that make my heart sing.

I love that my birthday falls at the end of July. It’s enough to time look back at the last year of life and the last 6 months of the current year and make any changes necessary to achieve the goals I’ve set for myself. It takes daily focus because as time moves on and things change, because they always do, evaluating my progress and making revisions as I go along is the only way to ensure that I’m on track.

For this New Year I want to focus more on living from my heart and following the path that takes me in the direction of my authentic self. This path may not be the straightest, but it is the one that brings me the most light and love. The thing about paths that zigzag is that they bring with them awesome change through each new opportunity. The trick is not being afraid of change.

Life makes sense when we are centered in our own heart and embrace our own unique journey. Anon

What’s most important to me? My family. My friends. Relationships. I want to focus a little more time and attention on the friendships that mean the most to me, that I’ve let slip, because over time it gets easier not to call or text or email. First step in the direction of this goal: I called a long time friend of mine. I haven’t spoken to her in months but she is really one of those special people I feel blessed to know and want to keep in my life. This was my gift for today.

As for my other goals: making more money, doing more yoga and the like, they will unfold in this space over the course of the next year.
