This poem resonates with me on so many levels. Though written for his son, Kipling’s words speak to me, especially the excerpt above. It says to me that the true measure of a woman is her courage and humility. You can risk everything you have and lose and it takes great courage and even greater humility to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and try again. And not focus on/speak about the loss. Hits me for all kinds of sixes.
