7 for Seven

It’s Monday so you know what’s up!

…every Monday, we post seven positives from the previous seven days of the week as a reminder of what we have so that the week starts out on an upswing. There is much truth in the belief that happy people attract good things, so it is important to start the week out right. Sometimes it’s the more grand, but other times, it’s the simple things.

7 for Seven week 20

My hope is that by turning my focus to all that I have to be grateful for at the start of my work week, by sowing my own seeds of faith and gratitude, I can carry with me and reap the rewards of “positivity + balance + bliss” throughout the days ahead.

Happy Mother’s Day again to all mothers, because as long as your are a mother…every day is mother’s day. Well folks, it’s Monday and if you have been reading this blog for the past five months…you know what we do around these parts at the start of the week.

GO

I started a gratitude practice on Mondays where I share 7 positives/things I am grateful or thankful for and this practice has really changed the way I approach my week.

However, this week in particular has been especially hard. It seems everybody and their sister is writing a Mother’s day post and I am dreading reading your blogs this weekend which is crazy because some of my favourite blogs are “mommy-blogs”. In fact I am considering a social media blackout until Monday. Is that normal…that four years later I still cannot share in the happiness of others…even my own family on Mother’s Day?

I am reminded even more so around this time of year that it was the last truly happy times we shared with mummy. And the further away from Mother’s Day Weekend 2010 I get is the more I fear the memories of that weekend will fade. It feels like a triple whammy with her Birthday, Ovarian Cancer Day and Mother’s Day all occurring in the same week.

STOP

I ran out of time and it’s a good thing too because the tears have started and I cannot see through them to type anymore.

My twin-island state is reeling from the assassination of a high profile Senior Counsel just after midnight yesterday. You can read this blog post that echoes my thoughts and feelings about it here. I wonder like so many others…will this be the catalyst that awakens a fire for justice among the citizens of my country for all those who have lost their lives at the hands of criminals…or will it be business as usual come Friday night when “it have cold beers to drink on the Ave”?

This has been a heavy heavy day to say the least. Looking to the positives in my life today…helped alleviate some of the heaviness.

These last few days have been a real struggle for me and it has really affected this space. But I’ve decided to start again, right where I am.
